Here is a toddler doll I made that is 24" long. I figured he needed a bed to sleep in, so I found these straw baskets. I then customized the liner and flannel mattress.
You can see the mattress is made from a contrasting flannel material and stuffed and tufted. The straw handles are covered and attached with Velcro so they can be removed and washed.
The Basket is 30" long and big enough for a real newborn.

Great nephew gets a buddy for Christmas
This is Ben. He loves caps and boy things like tractors.
This is Ben playing in the grass ...surprised he doesn't have a worm or frog with him.
Here is the Ben doll I made, complete with cap. He also has a scar over his left eyebrow just like the one he has in real life.
This is his Grandma missing him and hold his look alike pal . She can't wait to see the real Ben and I hope he likes his buddy. This little guy has jointed arms and legs. I'm hoping we don't regret that part since he is all boy. Oh well. I am Aunti forever and can fix it anytime he needs.

A Big Birthday gift for a special friend
My friend had a "Big" birthday and I was planning on attending the surprise event. What to make for someone have that "Big" birthday. She had only 1 daughter who is now grown and married. So, upon looking at several pictures of her daughter in different stages of her life, I constructed the doll to look similar to her. My intent was to capture that love that a mother has for their child and the joy that comes when you look at that child. Here is the result.

A doll to remember, to honor, to make someone smile
Meet Fred. He is my latest doll and yet a first for me. I haven't made an adult doll before but was asked to make this in memory of someone very special to a friend of mine. He was an avid golfer and loved father of 3. When he passed a few months ago, my friend took it very hard and thought that a doll might help to ease the emptiness left there when her father passed. I hope this does just that.

Sister dolls redo
I decided to redo the sisters as Grandma didn't want the pony tails. I also wasn't happy with the brunette's face so redid that.

sister dolls for Maria's granddaughters
These 2 little dolls are for a friend who wants to preserve the infancy of her granddaughters. I tried to needle sculpt even the nasolabial folds and the nose is totally sculpted.
This is the youngest granddaughter and beautiful reddhead. Both of the girls are so cute, I am not sure I have done them justice. I may do more sculpting in the area between the eyes but I will sleep on it for now.

Hurray! Website Shopping Cart complete!
I can't believe it. I managed to get the shopping cart active on my web site. It took more work than I imagined but it is worth it. Now to go to the next " what I hate to do" thing on my list to check it off. I know it has to be promoting and joining the area Chamber of Commerce and visiting hospitals and gift shops. I'd rather enter receipts in my QuickBooks. Procrastination! Procrastin-a-a-tion is taking me down.Carly Simon almost got it right.

Altered Preemie pattern
Well, I have created a preemie baby from Asia. Sweet. You guessed it. A sock sacque(sp). Why do I dread the clothes? Guess I will bite that bullet ...tomorrow.

Idea to patent
I am so excited about the prayer pocket heart on my dolls. I thought "OH I don't need to patent this idea. It would be a blessing if all dolls had this." Then my sister points out that if Mattel gets a hold of the idea and gets it patented then I can't use it. So, I have started the copywrite in motion. It is disheartening that good things can turn bad in spite of ones intent. I guess it goes to show you must be specific in your intent and protect against the negative. Lawyers...the epitome of positive and negative.

Revelation to pass on with my dolls
I was speaking with a patient of mine today, telling her about a set of dolls I had seen that represented an Hawaiian spiritual custom and belief. I told her I want to do that with my dolls as well but instead of a custom I want to pass on an intent for a blessing. She suggested I call it a prayer pocket and make it a jeans like pocket on the little boys butt or a heart that's a pocket. Then I can put whatever prayer intent the customer wants to pass on for the child in the doll's heart pocket. The intent or prayer can be changed as the child''s need changes. I will now have words made for the pockets . I think the heart pocket is appropriate for all my dolls. I am excited about this addition. So all my dolls will have a prayer pocket. Cute and awesome idea! Thanks Tracey.
